Gold CIP

(Carbon in Pulp)

As one of the gold ore dressing processes, CIP (Carbon in Pulp) process is extremely popular with various gold ore dressing plants because of its high adsorption rate, high recovery rate and low investment costs. Compared with other gold ore dressing processes, CIP process not only eliminates the expensive solid-liquid separation process, but also further optimizes each production link, so that the efficiency is improved obviously. According to the statistical analysis of projects, CIP process can help customers save investment costs by 30%-50% and reduce production costs by 8%-35%.

Process Flow

Preprocessing 01

cyanide slurry is screened to remove coarse-grained material and wood dust before the adsorption. And the activated carbon is polished to grind off sharp corners and edges before entering the adsorption tank.

√ Prevent the impurities from adsorbing gold and activated carbon then mixing into the rich carbon, and avoid the wood dust blocking the carbon screen;

√ Prevent the activated carbon debris from entering the slurry, then cause the loss of gold.

Leaching and absorption 02

Add coconut activated charcoal into the high-efficient cyanide leaching tank, then the activated carbon absorbs the gold from the cyanide pulp and becomes the gold loaded carbon. After the adsorption, the activated carbon and slurry are separated by carbon screen.

√ Compared with the almond shell activated carbon, the strong adsorbability of Yantai Group coconut activated charcoal greatly improves the adsorption amount and recovery rate of gold in associated metals; meanwhile, its great wear resistant property reduces the loss of gold loaded carbon powder.

√ Washing thickener adopts continuous discharging, which reduces multiple cycles of hydrothermal gold, extends the time of pulp concentration and increases the washing effect.

Desorption Electrolysis 03

Gold loaded carbon is changed into gold mud and lean carbon in desorption electrolysis system.

√ High-temperature and high-pressure (150 ℃, 0.5 Mpa) can desorb 99% of the gold in just 2-6 hours;

√ The cyanide complex ions of gold and silver in pregnant solution has is relatively high concentration, which can be transformed to high purity solid gold by Yantai Group desorption electrolysis system.

Smelt 04

After the simple pickling and impurity removal process, the gold ingots can be obtained directly by high frequency melting furnace.

√ Ensure that the gold mud fully mixes with agents in the acid pickling agitation tank, which can remove the impurities from the gold mud or acid soluble inorganics from the solution.

Regeneration of Desorbed Carbon 05

After the regeneration, the lean carbon can be reused by adding a proportion of new activated carbon.

√ After the desorption electrolysis, coconut activated charcoal should be pickled with dilute sulfuric acid (nitric acid), which can remove the accumulation materials (such as carbonate). Then, it is sent to regenerative furnace to recover the adsorption activity. Finally, its iodine value can restore to 95% at least.
